As you move through these final weeks of December,  notice the holiday lights. The proud town Christmas tree. The blinking lights framing store windows. The soft glow of a family menorah seen through a window.

Notice the lights. 

And remember, YOU are the light. You are made of light. 

Nope, I didn't make that up.

Noted scientist and author Dr. Joe Dispenza shares:

 “We are quite literally beings of light, each radiating a very vital life force, and expressing an actual light field around our bodies – the totality of each cell expressing and contributing to a vital field of light that carries a message.”  

 While I love the science, spiritual texts have been telling us the same truth for centuries. 

The Bible, Matthew 5:14 reminds us:

 "You are the light of the world...."

My favorite mystic text, A Course in Miracles, echoes this truth many times. Lesson 61 in the Course is titled "I am the Light of the World" and opens with:

 "Who is the light of the world except God's Son? This, then, is merely a statement of truth about yourself. It is the opposite of a statement of pride, of arrogance, or of self-deception. It does not describe the self-concept you have made. It does not refer to any of the characteristics with which you have endowed your idols. It refers to you as you were created by God. It simply states the truth."

 I'm reminded of the truth of every morning as I pray the Be Love Principles before I get out of bed. The fourth Principle is:

 "You are the light. You never left the light of the ALL."

This holiday season, enjoy the lights.

And remember...your own light shines into the world with every kind word, generous act and loving thought.
