The Face of Oneness

Oct 24, 2024
Diane L Haworth

Recently, I was explaining the concept of "oneness" to a client. While she understood the idea, she asked for a practical way to deepen her experience.

I remembered a practice I once heard from Neale Donald Walsch (at least, I think it was him!). It had a profound impact on me because it was simple, doable, and easy to share.

Neale described how he goes through his day silently acknowledging each person he encounters with a thought like:

  • "That's me expressing as a young mother."
  • "That's me expressing as a long-distance runner."
  • "That's me expressing as a homeless man."

You get the idea.

Through this practice, he recognized that each person is a unique facet of the same jewel—a reflection of him and of all of us. That's the "oneness."

This simple shift in perspective allows us to cultivate greater compassion, empathy, and love for everyone and everything we encounter.

Try it for yourself. The next time you interact with someone, silently acknowledge them as a reflection of the oneness we all share. Notice how your heart softens and your connection to love expands.

While you're at it, look into the mirror and say, "I’m a reflection of God's love, connected to the All."

What a beautiful way to BE LOVE in the world!
